Starting your day with a clean tidy desk can really kick start your day. Most people seem to check emails first thing in the morning. Listening to your voice messages while cleaning off your desk is the best way to catch the higher priority items. Usually when a client wants something done immediately by a Virtual Assistant, they leave a voice message rather than an email and if you’re in an office it could be a post-it buried under mail and files.
Once the desk and voice messages have been thoroughly checked then it’s on to the emails. You should know which emails are priority. Sort the emails first and quickly scan to read the higher priority emails. Too many people get caught up reading the unimportant “junk” or personal emails. If you can, make sure all business emails are completely separate from your business emails. Never use your business email account for personal items.
